  • Focus on Shipping Decarbonization | SIGAS Group Presents at China-Europe Maritime Forum in Hamburg, Germany, Explaining How Accurate Carbon Emission Monitoring Facilitates Vessel Compliance
    Sep 15, 2026
August 31, 2026, Hamburg, Germany – On the eve of SMM Hamburg, the China-Europe Maritime Forum was successfully held in Hamburg. Centered on hot topics in the newbuilding and operating vessel markets, the forum hosted in-depth discussions and business matchmaking sessions covering energy-saving retrofits of green ships, ESG, digital monitoring, green carbon finance and other themes.   Mr. He Tingjie, Director of SIGAS Group, was invited to attend the forum and delivered a keynote speech titled Implementation Practices and Development Trends of Accurate Carbon Footprint Monitoring in Shipping. He introduced SIGAS Group’s technical expertise and project experience in shipping carbon emission monitoring to European shipowners, ship management companies, vessel operators and maritime professionals present at the event.     During his presentation, Director He noted that as global shipping decarbonization accelerates, regulators worldwide are imposing increasingly stringent requirements on shipping carbon accounting and information disclosure. Accurate, traceable carbon emission data has become a cornerstone for shipping companies to maintain regulatory compliance and secure green financing support. Drawing on SIGAS’s completed project cases, he illustrated the great value of “direct measurement instead of estimation” for vessel cost reduction and compliance management.   To meet carbon monitoring requirements across diverse shipping scenarios, SIGAS Group offers an end-to-end digital monitoring solution for vessel power systems. The solution collects and calculates carbon data in real time, automatically generates carbon emission reports complying with IMO and EU MRV regulations to support shipping companies’ mandatory reporting. It also identifies energy-saving opportunities via data analytics and optimizes voyage operations, achieving both carbon reduction and cost control.     The presentation sparked extensive discussions among attendees. Representatives from multiple European shipping and ship management companies held in-depth exchanges with Director He regarding technical implementation details and potential cooperation opportunities, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration in this sector.       SIGAS EmissionGuard CGC Series Marine CEMS   Featuring patented dual-spectrum NDIR+NDUV technology, the system delivers real-time, precise full-spectrum measurement of multi-component gas concentrations including NO, NO₂, SO₂, CH₄, CO₂, N₂O, CO and O₂, with measurement accuracy ≤ ±1% FS. Designed in compliance with IMO and MRV regulations, the system can automatically generate compliant reports. It is adapted to harsh marine conditions with heavy salt spray and intense vibration, and has obtained certifications from major classification societies.   The SIGAS EmissionGuard CGC Series has been deployed in multiple international benchmark projects: Northern Lights CCS liquid CO₂ transport fleet in Norway, achieving an on-board carbon offset rate exceeding 97.4% during operation;   MONTE SHAMS LNG bunkering vessel, adopting Method D direct measurement to submit MRV carbon emission compliance reports with stable and reliable sea trial performance.   Based on actual on-board operating conditions, SIGAS delivers customized compliance solutions covering both new ship construction and retrofits of existing vessels. From fuel tanks to carbon credits, SIGAS provides full-chain support for vessels toward net-zero emissions.   About SIGAS Group   Founded in 2010 by a team of German-returned engineers, SIGAS Group is a high-end domestic sensor enterprise driven by R&D and specializing in quantitative gas analysis. With R&D and manufacturing base in Changshu, Jiangsu, commercial and strategic hub in Shanghai, and smartGAS in Heilbronn, Germany serving as the R&D and sales center for European and American markets, SIGAS has established a Sino-German coordinated global footprint. Upholding the philosophy of “Precise Detection · Sensing Everything”, SIGAS focuses on quantitative gas analysis and aims to build a benchmark for domestic high-end sensors.   SIGAS concentrates on three core sectors: green shipping, clean energy and smart industry. With the mission of “Driving Low-Carbon Transition through Technology”, SIGAS strives to become a global leader in gas analysis and provide the “measurement standard” for global industrial carbon neutrality.
